Happy Easter!

I know I'm terribly late on this, but I do hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I enjoyed my Easter Sunday and we were especially blessed because all of Chris' extra church meetings were cancelled so we got to have him with us all day! We cooked a roast in the crockpot while we were at church and then had my in-laws over for dinner and really enjoyed a peaceful day (I even crammed in a 20 minute nap). I am so thankful for the atonement of our Savior and my knowledge that because He was resurrected we all will be too.

On Friday night we had a bunch of friends over for an Easter Egg hunt. You can imagine eight little kids waiting anxiously in the house, waiting for the ninth to arrive so they could go get all of the eggs in the backyard! I thought my son would have a melt down when Daddy brought him home from the park to see me "hiding" the last of the eggs in the backyard. Luckily within a minute or two friends started showing up and it made the waiting much more bearable! I was so anxious to have enough eggs that I went a bit overboard, but I'm happy to say that they all got as many eggs as they wanted and then ran around eating candy and goodies (and sometimes even some vegetables!). In fact, our son ate so much candy (even though we put his away, he kept finding more from friends) and ran around so much he threw up. But he sure had fun! And now when we ask him what he wants for breakfast, he tells us he wants an egg, or just tells us "jelly beans."

His idea of an Easter egg hunt was to eat his candy as he went!

Chris almost begging him to put the eggs in his basket so he could get more.

Finally he just resorted to running from us (so much for helping!). But he sure had fun!!

Quote of the Day

I was reading today and came across this wonderful quote (something I need to do better at remembering!): "Listening is an expression of love. It often requires sacrifice. When we truly listen to others, we often give up what we want to say so they can express themselves" (Teaching, No Greater Call [1999], 66).
